As we close our doors to guests after another unforgettable season at Estancia Los Potreros, we have so much to celebrate. One of our proudest achievements is the incredible generosity shown by our guests in supporting two local schools connected to our estancia and the wider Córdoba community.
This season, thanks to purchases made in our estancia shop and many thoughtful donations of toys and stationery, we have raised X in support of local education initiatives.
Supporting Local Schools in Córdoba, Argentina
At Estancia Los Potreros, community is at the heart of everything we do. The two rural schools we support have deep ties to our farm. Many of our staff members - and their children, nieces, nephews, and relatives - have attended these schools.
As a family-run estancia in Argentina, we believe in creating meaningful, long-term impact. Our goal is not only to offer an authentic Argentine estancia experience for our guests, but also to give back to the rural community that makes what we do possible.
How Our Estancia Shop Supports the Community
Our on-site shop plays a vital role in these efforts, working in two important ways:
100% of proceeds go directly toward school development projects.
We source the majority of our products from local artisans and craftsmen, supporting traditional skills and regional heritage.
By shopping with us, guests directly contribute to both education and sustainable local enterprise in Córdoba, Argentina.

Rawhide belts handmade by our gauchos
Handcrafted silver jewellery from San Antonio de Areco, a historic town renowned for its intricate silversmithing and gaucho culture
Hand-painted traditional mate cups, celebrating Argentina’s most iconic social ritual
Each item reflects the craftsmanship, culture, and traditions of rural Argentina, making them meaningful keepsakes.
Past Community Projects
Thanks to the generosity of our guests, we have successfully completed several impactful projects over the years, including:
Installing solar power systems at local schools
Supplying essential books and stationery to support children’s learning
Funding improvements to school facilities
These initiatives have helped create brighter, more sustainable learning environments for local children in the Córdoba region.
What Comes Next?
As our horses enjoy a well-earned rest after a busy riding season, we turn our attention to our next community project.
We are currently in discussions with teachers and the parent association to identify where support is most needed. We are excited about the possibilities and look forward to sharing updates soon.
In addition, we hope to expand our involvement by connecting students more closely with the land and traditions that define life at Estancia Los Potreros. Planned initiatives include:
Tree planting and conservation projects for older students
A special “Day with the Gauchos” experience, where students can learn about traditional horsemanship, rural skills, and daily life on a working Argentine estancia
Through these initiatives, we aim to strengthen the bond between education, heritage, and environmental stewardship.
